PC Specs:
AMD Athlon XP 2000+ (1670mhz)
Jetway V333DA Motherboard
512mb RAM
Chaintech GeFORCE FX 5200 128mb @ 4x AGP

I had a Jetway GeFORCE 2 64mb until Saturday and the FX 5200 gives me these GREAT increases:

Grand Prix 4 - 2 frames per second extra (Wow!)
Enter the Matrix - 640x480 now (With the GeForce 2 I could play 800x600!!!!!!)
Colin McRae Rally 3 - Smooth with the GeForce 2 BUT Jerky as hell with the FX 5200)

With these games I have NOT upped the detail levels!

I have tried 9 different sets of Drivers but to no avail!!!!

I get a 3DMark 2001 SE Score of 4457 with the GeForce FX - Is that about right? When I compare results with the browser other people with this card are getting scores of over 7000!!!!!!

Also I paid £30 for my GeFORCE 2 64mb about 1 year ago which was a great buy!!!

I paid £60 for my Chaintech GeFORCE FX 128mb on Saturday!!!! What a waste of money!!!!

Is this correct?
I thought the GeFORCE FX 5200 would be way better than a GeForce 2!

The 5200 non-ultra is a weak card.

If you used to have a Geforce2 GTS it won't be much of an improvement.

Some 5200 non-ultras have been gibbled with 5200s with a weak 64 bit memory interface. (they're supposed to have a 128 bit interface but some manufacturers are skimping on costs). If those are your scores this might be the case...

Ya they sale you the FX5200 with lots of features ie DX9 capable etc. Only thing is this card is way to slow to run DX9 games...Dont expect to much for a 100$ or so card nowadays...I dont suggest anything under FX5600-radeon 9500/9600 to run newer games smoothly.

"If you used to have a Geforce2 GTS it won't be much of an improvement."

Nope!!!
I used to have a Jetway GeFORCE 2 MX400 64mb.

That's what's so annoying!

Unfortunately, if your 5200 is nerfed with the 64 bit memory interface, it's about on par with the Geforce2 MX 400...

128mb or 128 bit? You sure you know what youre talking about?

But anyways, yeah the 5200 non-ultra sucks big ass dude!

Why in the world would you think the BOTTOM-of-the-line (5200 non ultra is as low as it gets) card today would be better than your mid-high end card from back in the day?

Maybe you should do some research next time.
