Hoping for a SOFT MOD FIREGL T2 in 6mths time!

Well I just saw <A HREF="http://www.theregister.co.uk/content/3/32034.html" target="_new">THIS</A> and I hope those crazy Russian tweakers come up with a SOFT GL T2 (No Problemo!) mod for my R9600Pro by the time the R420/RV380 come out so that when I move this card to my 'video' rig and put the PCI-EX EVIL into my gaming rig. That way I can take advantage of the GL drivers for things like MAYA. I don't expect much now, but I hope there's something in a few mths. That would be <i>NICE</i>!

I'd agree with you except for one point. I'm comparing SOFT-MOD! IF I was gettinf funded by someone (not yet) the I'd go out and pay for a Quadro FX (probably 1000), however if I can SOFT-MOD my current 9600P into a FireGL T2 then that would be nice instead of just throwing it into my rig as an un-adulterated R9600Pro (despite the fact that it does WELL as such, even against the R9500Pro [better in most SPEC tests] when it's not moded). I any case it'll be better than my R9000NP!

Obviously you guys aren't listening so I'll have to STOMP on YA'!

Quadro3000 is a waste of money unless you need to run 20 displays or a 4000x4000 display spread across 20 monitors/tv's. Its performance is like 5% faster than the 2000 but the cost is much much more
