Now, I don't know which video card I should get, but I do know that I am going to get an NVidia card.
Also, why are some Geforce 4 Ti series cards priced more than some of the newer FX series cards?
I heard someone say from a thread here that some of the Ti cards will be faster than some of the fx cards for future games. Is this true? I don't find this makes sense since FX is newer, it should be more powerful.
Basically, I am stuck on which video card to get. should I go Ti or FX... money is not an issue except for getting FX5900 or 5800.
He is the forum rat, he goes around starting flamewars, and generally acting like a jackass.
Yes, the Ti (4200/4400/4600/4800/4800SE) series cards are faster than some of the FX cards.
Theyre a hell of alot faster than the 5200 series, and somewhat faster than a 5600 sometimes, although not faster than a 5600 Ultra rev. 2. The benefit of the FX5600 and up series, over the Ti series, is its better performance in Anti-aliasing, and anisotropic filtering, and its DX9 compatability.
Why though, must you go with an nvidia card?
U tell me the best price you can find on an nVidia FX5600 Ultra (revision 2), and then ill tell you the best price on an ATI Radeon 9700 (non-pro version).
A radeon 9700 non-pro blows the 5600 out of the water (at around the same price)!
Whats a revision 2? All 5600 Revision 2s run at 400/600, thats 400mhz core, 600mhz memory (ddr).
If its less than that, its not a rev. 2.
Also DO NOT get a 256 mb 5600, as the extra 128 mb are 100% useless on a card of its power (its not powerful enough to ever use/need them, and just adds to the cost).
your excluding the best cards on teh market right now
therefore, im not going to help you with the information ive built up over the past months! which woiuld be a benifit sinse your spending your hard earned dollar. BUT your choice!
zfuture I recommend the TI4600 I,ve had all the top dollar cards and beleave me you can do as well with the GF4 4600,ATI is still caught with drivers that function on a kindergarden level, and nivdia,FX5900 Ultra is a fast corvette with out a road to travel on.everthing is bottle necked,The person hear which name ends in "suck" need the power to try out some of these cards befor recomending them.I have had the ATI9800 Pro and the FX5900 Ultra,But I,m useing GF4 4600 untill they get that enterstate built for the major priced cards to travel on.BTW they are both nice cards but not into days systems in my on hand users View.
hey, if you want to make a link clickable try doing this:

You're telling me he's as well of with a 4600 as with a 9800 Pro? Are you dumb or something? The 9800 Pro is twice as fast as the 4600! LITERALLY!!! The 5900 Ultra is too!
As for you Mr. Future, don't limit yourself to nVidia. Just don't do it. It ain't worth it. Ati owns just about every leg of the market right now.
$100 - GF Ti4200
$140 - R9600 Pro (The r.2 gffx 5600U is like $180)
$200 - R9700
$260 - R9700 Pro
$330 - R9800 Pro 128
$450 - R9800 Pro 256 (same performance as gffx 5900U, but better IQ)
These days, no matter what company you like, be it nVidia, ATi, or whatever, no matter how logical your reasons, you're labeled an idiot or a fanboy, or both.
I only tell it like it is I had the cards and tried them and I know by first use how they run not what I read in some review with benchmarks,Not just ATI but both cards. And I,m not telling anyone to buy a card because it is a certian brand like you with ATI.I go by what is the best and I found that none of the cards;ATI or Nvidia met my standareds as playing the games we have now and with end the next year in my view.call me dumb if you wish, but I,m not a broke one,and I don't play the numbers either.

Sharkmeat, I know you're one of our forum faggots whos just had a name change. Your posts are completely stupid and false, and show your blind devotion to nVidia. You have NOT owned all three of those cards, and if you had, you would not have gone back to the TI4600.

I don't mind the flamning, but I do mind when someone tells me I,m lieing.I owned both cards ATI 9800 pro and the FX 5900 Ultra.I have no reason to lie about such trivia stuff as that, not even to a person of your standereds. It is very easy to prove that I owned the cards, but I would not put the information in this public forum.I have the ser # of both cards and I,m sure PNY and ATI could vouche for the ser # of the cards they recived back from the vendors.
How old I am and where I live is no concern of yours. What I write can't be as bad as your 2 cents worth,Most all your post either are junk or name calling, other than that your post mount to a hill of beans. When I try to help some one I try to know what I,m talking about, and all you want to do is write crap.Maybe you should find a new home.
As my writting goes i,m as bad as they probley come to grammer.I respect a person with good grammer skills, but when they add in name calling and trash that don't mean anything it kills anything they try to say.
I felt jealous with you having able to try all those new cards but you're still an idiot trying to say we don't know nothing coz we haven't tried using it yet.

I,m sorry if you feel that way.I can't understand how I gave the impression that anyone was an idiot in my info that I gave,I throught it might help some of you get an idear what my view was as a layman user, not a high tech benchmarker which most are given cards to test.I had to pay to get the cards.I never bragged about having the cards.I would never call anyone names or say you or anyone else are an idiot over a stupid video card.
