Ati 9800 se?

Can someone please tell me what the ATI Radeon 9800SE is? What is the difference between it and the `normal` Radeon 9800?

I posted some links a while back. Basically it will come in two flavours.

A slowed-down 256bit memory version and a 128bit memory version.

This is still speculation, but seemingly more concrete by the day, and may appear without warning on shelves (and proabably in a DELL) near you.

usually i'm the one reading a post and thinking, dang somebody beat me to it....

a 256 bit memory bus version is made by powercolor and available in the US (more info <A HREF="http://www.newegg.com/app/viewproduct.asp?description=14-131-224&refer=pricewatch" target="_new">here from newegg's website</A> ). couldnt tell you if there is any software that will softmod the card to an 8 pixel pipeline. someone tried it and posted to <A HREF="http://www.guru3d.com/forum/showthread.php?s=0cbf26cea9d1708529ae55ffe5b978c8&threadid=59661" target="_new">guru3d.com rivatuner forum</A>, but he wasnt sucessful. one post isnt very representative, but i would wait for the next revision of rivatuner to see if there is something in there for 9800se owners.<P ID="edit"><FONT SIZE=-1><EM>Edited by boilermaker on 08/02/03 06:12 PM.</EM></FONT></P>
