Choice: Gainward 5600 256mb and ATI 9500Pro?

Trying to decide if a Gainward or BFG GeForce FX5600 256mb or an ATI Radeon 9500Pro would be better. They are both equally priced. Conclusions appreciated............Thanks!

The R9500PRO is the BEST performing card in that class. It's really just a hamstrung R9700.
The R9600Po (sad to admit) is a lesser card, and ALL of the FX5600s (yes even the Revision 2) are lesser performers.
The only place that the R9500Pro will be beaten is in OLD games like Quake 3 and then even a GF4ti will be pretty much all comers.
So my recommendation. The R9500PRO, and doubly so if it's not even an FX5600Ultra. The 256mb will mean VERY little, and will get little or no use.

Yeah, agree with these guys. However, if you can't find a 9500P, the 9600P is a fine alternative.

If you can spend an extra $40-50.. Try getting a 9700non pro. Its a great deal, and will be "better" than even the 9500pro.

And forget about a card with 256Mb of ram.
Such a waste for a mid level card.

Such huge amounts of ram really only help with insanely high screen resolutions, and you need a high level card to run such resolutions at a decent speed.
