is the Nvidia 5600 ultra (only in 128mb i think)
or the Nvidia 5600 256mb better?

You should get the Ultra (Rev 2) simply it has a faster core clock and memory. The extra 128mb of ram on the nonultra is useless at the moment.

I agree with you except on one small detail. 256mb will never be of any use on a midrange card, given the underpowered nature of the gpu. Same applies to the ATi 9600 256mb. The only cards out there today that could make use of 256mb are the fx5900u and 9800p, and ONLY when you crank everything to the utter maximum. Should help in the future too.
