I have a linksys router and wireless adapter in my laptop
and a PCI card from microsoft (MN-130) in my PC. I have
internet connection on both computers through the router.
Both computers can see each other in the local network and
I can access the laptop files from the PC. However, when
I try and access the PC files from the laptop I receive a
message that says I can not access the PC and may not have
the proper permissions. I have set up file and print
sharing on both computers. Any ideas?

I have a similar problem. I have one of Sympatico's new
combination wireless broadband router/modems. I have 2
pc's and one laptop. All connect to the internet fine.
The pc wire connected to the router can see and access the
other 2 computers. The laptop can see all the computers
and can connect to the remote pc but not the wired pc.
The remote pc can see the laptop and the wired but cannot
access the files on either one. The workgroup name is the
same on all three. All are using NTFS.

I, too, have a problem similar to this, and would
appreciate any assistance I may be given. I have tried on
two seperate networks, with two different laptops, both
running XP, to share files with other computers. In both
cases, it was a wired network, with a shared internet
connection. The internet is accessible on all computers,
all desktop computers have full access to the workgroup,
but cannot see the laptop, and when I attempt to view
workgroup computers on the laptop, I get a message stating
that I do not have access to the workgroup, and to please
check my permissions with the network administrator.
