Does anyone know anything about the new ATI Radeon 9100 IGP chipset? I thought it was supposed to be released this summer?
If anyone knows any links, manufacturers, distributors, anything, please let me know, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks!

I love the idea of not having to disable onboard AGP, but likely by the time it hits shelves PCI-EX (mobos not cards) will be short on it's heals if not right beside it.

Thanks a lot, it's been helpful...but now I see something conflicting...what's the FSB? 800MHz or 533MHz? It seems ATI's website has it at 800MHz, but meanwhile a lot of previews and articles have it at 533MHz? Which is right, and where can I find the real anticipated specifications? Thanks a lot!

i thnk in the coming years we will see ALOT more integrated solutions that are actually useable because of how fast chips are shrinking in size. it only makes sense, a complete easy to install package. the day of the computer nerd who is able to build a "custom pc" is over. heck , the day of the computer nerd IS over cause everyone is a comuter nerd nowadays

after the .09nm process... GAWD those processors will be as small as a needle point eventualy

plus you also have to think of how the FSB is merging with the actual processor speed

1gig FSB from Intel? some day it will match. it only makes sense, for getting the most out of a CPU (sinse they sit idle most of the time)

up until now integrated graphcs have had wierd memory buses separate from teh FSB... not very cost effective or easy to design. but the 800hmz dual channel FSB is more than fast enough to feed the GPU the textures it needs ... the bandwidth is actually MORE for the 9100 IGP with 800hmz x 128bit (64x2) than the actual 9100 video card

When ATI previewed the chipset they didn't have Intel's permission to use the "800" bus, but the chipset was designed to work with it unofficially. Now they've worked a deal with Intel and the 800 bus is "officially supported".
