I'm trying to come up with a better blue/black control deck. I'm
planning on using the black aspect for permanents that force discard.
Then, Im planning on using blue wizards that can counter spells. By
using permanents instead of 1-time instants, I'm hoping to generate
significant card advantage and board control. The target environment
is casual or perhaps type 1/1.5. The goal is to allow some damage in
the short game and then achieve total lockdown by putting the opponent
in a situation where he only has 1 card in his hand and he's either
going to loose it next turn, or get it counterspelled that turn.
Then, you finish him with damage from specters or a big finish with Day
of the dragons. I haven't built the exact deck yet, but here are some
of the cards:
black
4 Hypnotic specter -discarder
1 Nezumi shortfang -discarder
4 Nezumi bone reader -discarder
Blue
4 Apphetto Alchemist - utility untaps other creatures
4 disruptive student - counterspeller
4 disruptive pitmage - counterspeller
3 Day of the dragons - game ender
2 decree of silence - counterspeller - high cc
4 clone - combos with soul foundry
4 counterspell
