Hi,

I'm looking at purchasing a Laptop (HP Compaq nx7000) which I have a choice of an ATI Mobility 9200 w/ 64MB DDR VRAM or a Mobility 7500c w/ 32MB DDR VRAM. Strangely enough the higher spec'd laptop has the 7500c chip and the lower spec'd has the 9200.

So, which is better from both a business POV as well as gamer, assuming all other things are equal such as HDD speed, CPU, etc. The screen is a widescreen running at 1680 x 1050. I'd like to have it running at 24/32bit colour.

Thanks.

MBP

If you could aim for 9600 mobility its better,
plus the support for directx 9.0, of course 9200 is much better the fact that's newer

The 7500 series is based on the VERY old Radeon DDR (notice, no model number, it preceeded model numbers!). The 9200 is based on the 8500 and should provide better performance and more advanced features.
