Laptop CPU's

Hello,
I have a old Acer Aspire 5315 which I do not use any more, the screen is damaged and so I don't use it any more. I have removed all the right components I could use again. Such as the Hard Drive & RAM. I also have a Compaq EVO N800C which I got for free, its really slow I am going to upgrade the Ram but I know it won't make any difference, I wanted to know if the CPU socket is the same as my Acer, if it is I will swap the processor. Also does any one know where I can get thermal pads for my laptop.

Look up the model numbers. That should give you the CPU/socket info. I wouldn't bother with thermal pads. Just use a normal TIM like on a desktop.
