Is it worth it?
My GForce3 is not a Ti, it's the first GForce3 chip released, the brand is Leadtek.

I must say that i can have a MSI GForce FX5200 128Mo for only 70Euros, so it's quite cheap.

NO NO NO! Again I say NO NO NO!. Your GeForce 3 is WAY WAY better than an FX5200. In fact the original Geforce 3 is better than a GeForce 3 Ti 200, but not the GF3 Ti 500. Are you getting poor performance in games? If not, i would keep it and hold out a few more months until the radeon 9700 drops to like $150 which should happens soon after Half-Life2 and Doom 3 are released. Trust me, your GeForce 3 will smother that FX 5200 128 MB in Doom3, even if the FX5200 is DX 9 compliant. Nvidia had to sacrifice alot of performance in the FX 5200 chip just to provide the extensions for DirectX 9. If you must upgrade now, what price range are you willing to go for, or do you want strictly bang for buck?

Well, the geforce3 is not really any better than the FX 5200, but it's no worse either. The cards are pretty much on par with each other, the Geforce3 should get slightly better framerates with AA and ansio disabled, and the FX 5200 should do slightly better with AA and ansio enabled.

Not worth an upgrade at all though. The only cards worth upgrading to for you are the Radeon 9600 PRO or GeforceFX 5600 Ultra rev2 (or better... 9700 non-pro is the best bang for the buck right now).

A geforce4 4200 Ti might be worth it because they're so cheap and perform well, but if you're going to upgrade why not go DirectX 9?

I agree. The GF3 is about = to the 5200. If you upgrade to the 5200, call me, so I can hit you on the head with a shovel.

Are you talking about the FX 5200 or FX 5200 Ultra? If you are talking about the cheapest FX 5200 being = GeForce 3 Performance I guess the FX 5200 is not so lame afterall, but for the price you could certainly get better.

A 5200 non-ultra with a 128 bit memory interface should be pretty close to a Geforce3, unless it is one of the cheapo 5200s with a 64 bit memory interface.

Those are complete $hit, and perform little better than a Geforce2 MX...
