Hi,
The full error message text is attached at the end of this message.
Knowledge base articles suggest that applying the latest SP will fix the
problem, but I'm already running SP2.

I there anyway to force the task scheduler to "re-generate" its security
database?

Can I fix this by "Repairing" the install from CD?

Any thoughts?

Thanks,
Mark

Full error message is as follows:

"Differential Backup.job" (ntbackup.exe) 3/14/2005 2:57:23 PM ** ERROR **

The attempt to retrieve account information for the specified
task failed; therefore, the task did not run. Either an error occurred, or no
account information existed for the task.

The specific error is:

0x8004130f: No account information could be found in the Task
Scheduler security database for the task indicated.

First off, when you set up this Scheduled task did you use an
account with a password?
By default, no blank passwords are allowed. If you did then you
might want to go back to your Scheduled Tasks folder and right
click on "Differential Backup.job" and look in the Run as box on
the Task page. Make sure it matches your user account in name and
password.

Hi,
Yes, the account has a password. Also, I've tried using the administrator's
account and password to run the job. It generates the same problem.

Since you've had no success with different accounts, you might be
on the right track with a repair install. The only thing I can
think of to try before then would be System File checker. It's a
long shot but you never know. Look here for more info:

Here's a good source of info on repair:

Good luck
