Yeah I saw that review at work and bookmarked it. I think it's not a really even review with the UE being used for the R9600Pro, but since they didn't overclock it doesn't end up making much of a difference.
I like the number of cards used, but I'm getting a little bored of the same old review standards.
The thing that surprised me was the performance of the R9600P in GunMetal. Most reviews only show the performance at max, where the FXs excel. I always was under the impression that GM made ATI look real bad in comparison, this is one of the first examples that show them in a good light due to the number of res. run.
Anywhoo, another review to stroke my ego and make me think, yeah an ok choice for the meantime.
And yes 'dem der Ultimate Editions look awesome, and they perform OK as long as you don't overclock them. Even with the same memory, the heatpipe seems to restrict the overhead of the memory, and doesn't really give any advantage over stock for the core. However it's probably pretty silent, as long as you don't play for TOO long (then you'd likely need a good fan [even a whisper] on it). I think one of those and a Hauppauge card would be a good choice for a multimedia center, imagine a nice AIW version, that would be a nice add to a self-made PVR.
Runs alot cooler than the R9800UE though, That's supposedly VERY hot and also a TERRIBLE overclocker. 0.13 core to the rescue.
