I currently have an Nvidia card and I am looking into buying a Radeon 9800. I heard that removing the Nvidia drivers could be a hassle and I am wondering how much of a hassle will it be? If it is too much, I may go Nvidia. I don't want to reinstall windows either. Thanks.

Just download Detonator R.I.P or Detonator Destroyer. If yyou hold on, I'll provide a link for you in few minutes.

My OS features preemptive multitasking, a fully interactive command line, & support for 640K of RAM!

I've never had to use this myself. But I'm pretty sure it will from what I've heard. Just make sure you follow the insturctions that they provide to ensure you do everything right. If you have anymore questions feel free, I can dig more info if neccessary.

Thanks, I assume you would reccommend the 9800 over a 5900? Except I play EA games a lot which hopefully won't have me wanting an Nvidia card. No need for links, just opinion.

WHy would playing EA games alot have cause anyone to want an Nvidia card? Do they have the spinning logo stating "Nvidia the way its meant to be played!!" If that is the case, that is just an adverstisment that Nvidia paid certain game companies to include in their software titles to endorse Nvidia's video products. The spinning logo means NOTHING. It doesn't mean the game was optimized for Nvidia more than ATi, its just a deceptive advertisement on Nvida's part, so ignore it. And yes, I would reccomend a 9800 over a 5600 ANY day.

I said 5900, not 5600. A 9800 would kill a 5600, I know that, I will assume the 9800 still wins. (These are the non-pro/ultra versions)

I'm sorry. I originally intended to say 5900. I have no idea what came over me. Yeah, your righit, the 9800 will kick the 5900's arse in DirectX 9 games. Still, if you the only game you'll ever play will be UT2k3 or Quake 3 Arena, or other popular DX7 & DX8 games and NOT EVER consider even laying a fingrer on upon upcomitng DX9 games, you will receive better performance with a 5900. But since 95% or more gamers are at least rem5otely intested in upcoming titles such as Halo, Doom 3, Tombraider, Half-Life 2, Deus Ex 2, just to name a few. If you have any interest in playing these titles on High quality get the 9800 because from what we know so far, the 5900 will score about half the framerate as the latter, meaning that the 5900 would be even beaten by a Radeon 9600 Pro.

I'm such a traitor!

Oh, by the way, if you look down at the thread of the guy who wanted a sub-$100 video card that I reccomended nVidia to him, the Ti4200 in particular.

I play EA Sports Games, NHL XXXX (I have every one since '96), Tiger Woods GOLF, Madden, F1, and Rugy & Cricket (SHUT-UP YANKS! ), and have had no problems with my R9600Pro (or my old 8500DV or even the RageFuryPro or the Rage 128 AIW). Also from the reviews I've seen the ATIs did better in most instances against the FXs. The only exception was some issues with TigerWoods (I've also heard rumblings about both cards and EA's NASCAR with AA/AF enabled; nV-poor quality image, ATI-slow). Take a look at the 'Other Considerations' portion of THIS FX5900 review at Beyond3D. Even they don't know which one is rendering the scene correctly. ATI did have previous issues with Tiger Woods but they were fixed in other driver versions. Still don't know what this one is. Judge for yourself if it is significant.
