I've read almost every single freakin thread in every single freakin forum and found that people are having installation problems with the Cat 3.7's. First off, make sure you get the correct driver...seems that ATI has some bad links on their webpage. Check out <A HREF="http://discuss.futuremark.com/forum/showflat.pl?Cat=&Board=techdisplayadapters&Number=2741911" target="_new">this futuremark thread</A> to download the correct driver package.

The next thing you should do before installing is CLEAN OUT THE OLD DRIVER. Do this one of two ways
1) Use a <A HREF="http://www.driverheaven.net/cleaner/" target="_new">driver cleaner</A> to do it automatically for you
2) Get Saavy and do it manually.

If you do use a driver cleaner, it would be wise to go into your registry and check to make sure everything was removed correctly and fully. I usually go in there and remove stuff like this:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\Class\{4D36E96E-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

and

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet003\Control\Class\{4D36E96E-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

and

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E96E-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

so that everything is fresh, shiny, and new. Then reboot, install the LARGE ALL IN ONE package and let the good times roll. Be sure to do some checking around on the various threads in rage3d and anandtech as well as futuremark for some more input. I myself installed them and have had no problems and even recorded around 10-20% improvement on almost all of the games I play. Hope this helps some...

I haven't installed et (got home at 1AM last night), I'll do it on the weekend and we'll see.

how have people to mess up their systems to get such problems? i don't get it..

i always just installed the driver i wanted, and done. i have nvidia, matrox, and ati drivers on the very same system, and even intel exteme graphics2 thingy drivers (what ever:D), and they all work great together.

okay, i have to "reinstall" the nvidia driver for each and every sort of card (pci gf2mx400 is not agp gf2mx400, hehe. i have to install the drivers twice, to get both cards working:D).

but i don't know how people get these problems, really not..
