Kudos to Gabe Newell for not standing up for Nvidia's crap! Nvidia used to be such an outstanding and reputable company. The launch of the FX series is almost as embarrasing as the campaigns for the Riva 128 & FAR more embarrasing than the GeForce 4 MX. Let's face it, everybody who bought an Nvidia DX9 card for low-end, mid-range, & high-end sectors of the market all got completely gipped. I haven't really been one to go on a product bashing or brandname bashing spree, but gee, I just can't hold it in any longer. I am seriously TICKED OFF at Nvidia for their deceptive marketting. I'm not mad at Nvidia because they are just a little slower than ATi - they are WAY SLOWER. I bet they knew D*** well that they were ripping their customers off. My faith in Nvidia has never been lower. I know this sounds fanboyish, but I beleive I would have good reason to be skeptical of the NV40 or whatever their new DX10 chip will be. What if it runs all the DX9 games all just fine and dandy and when DX10 games hit the market -SPLAT, PS3.0 performance slaughters nVidia. I don't think I'll be reccomending Nvidia for at least 2 generations. If they can develop a DX10 card before DX 10 games hit the market, my reccomendations will probably be reserved for ATi unless Nvidia shows that they can listen to the customer and runs the DX10 games when they arrive. Does my proposition sound a little extreme to you guys? To me, it just seems like the only reasonable way about this. Until then, a straight slate of ATi products for each category of budget I will reccomend.
DHlucke, I haven't seen you in the graphics forum in a while. Where've you been dude? You've been missing out on SO MUCH action.
My OS features preemptive multitasking, a fully interactive command line, & support for 640K of RAM!
