The Tech Report has a pretty good collection of slides from the Valve presentation (including benchmarks, and commentary).

I'm more than just happy to see developpers standing up loud against big companies, but also the way even the slide's text talks like a human to human would: "If you don't believe us, ask them!"
LOL, that was so good, they really are down-to-earth, something I believe is much needed in the business market as the "professional talk" is sometimes so bogus and subtle it often is misleading, or just hiding the truth. Like Futuremark's statement accepting nVidia's cheats.

Did anybody also notice that Valve said that the DX8 performance WAS EQUAL to the DX9 perf. for the 9800PRO? It all seems to unreal that PS2.0 is so effective that adding new effects will not null the DX8 level performance.
