My daughter has an E Machines that's about 6 months old. Yesterday it
just froze. When you turn it on it gets to the desktop and then stops.
All you see is the background photo. The curser is there and moves but
that's it. No start bar, no icons, control-alt-del does nothing and
right clicking the mouse will not bring up any menus either. What's
strange is that we're on a network and I can see her shared files from
the other computers on the network. I'm clueless! Does anyone have
any ideas? Thanks!!!!

The information is provided "as is", it is suggested you research for
yourself before you take any advice - you are the one ultimately
responsible for your actions/problems/solutions. Know what you are
getting into before you jump in with both feet.

Yes I did get it started in Safe Mode, but once there I didn't know
what to look for. After that reboot it did the same thing.
