GamersHeLL has Screenies from Halo and UT2K4.

The UT2K4 stuff disappoints me on a characer/player level, but the environment is good looking. Vehicles look nice too.
Halo, well we all know what Halo looks like. However it does look a bit darker than I remember it on the Xbox. Need a little Gamma boost?

Just some more distractions from HL2.

I can't wait for halo on the pc. Been waiting far too long though. Also KOTOR should be good when its finally released. A lot of new games have been delayed by 3-6 months for some reason. Nvideas fx range posing perf problems maybe? Oh well I'm sure the games will be worth the wait. :)

I gotta admit, personally, the Xbox graphics on PC are really not purdy. Halo looks rather dated in fact on these pics. And yeah, it looks darker.

As for UT2004, I don't get it anymore. What happened to the real UT experience, where they work hard after years? Now it's one year later and a new version is out? It's silly, a bad idea all the way. Kinda like releasing DOOM III and then DOOM IV next year. Bye goes the experience and the "feel".

I think UT2K4 is kinda like an expansion pack without try to make people figure out expansion packs. Why seel you an upgrade when we can minorly tweak the engine and include a whole new map/characters/weapons. It's kinda tricky, (more like a card refresh than new) but it's better than nothing as long as it's still fun to play. I think also that some of the nice advancements in graphics card power and tech. has allowed them to sparkle things up a bit.

We shall see.

The original UT had a more unique feel to me than the new UT2k3. In someways UT2K3 has resemblences of a Quake3 clone than an upgrade based of the original UT.

True, but it's not bad. I do enjoy it more than Q3. I prefer the co-operative kind of thing like Halo, and would pay $100+ for a multiplayed version of Morrowind, but those will have to wait, and even then, like Eden said, Halo's just not as polished anymore, too bad we didn't get it when the original owners intended. That would have been a sweet game even on the Old R8500DV!

Yeah, I'm not saying UT2K3 is a bad game, I've enjoyed playing the demo. I'll probably pick up a copy if it come out in a bargain bin somewhere. Or, if UT2k4 is more like the original UT, I'll probably get that instead.

How much do you bet the port is heavily craptimized so low end cards can't run it when they should?

I would have no idea. Its quite common for ports to not work out quite as well as expected.
