Asus k40 Laptop shuts off with AC Adapter plugged in

Have an Asus k40ij laptop that works fine off the battery and even charges (when shutdown) just fine.

However, With the AC Adapter plugged in. It only boots normally till you see windows loading screen, then it reboots.

If i boot it in safe mode, it works fine.

What the heck is going on? (have tried another AC Adapter and same problem).

Sounds like a bad driver or software. Run a virus scan on it with something like SuperAntiSpyware portable (download it on another computer). Or, have you installed any programs or updated drivers for any hardware recently? You can go in on safe mode and uninstall any recent programs, roll back drivers or even do a restore to a mark before it started happening.
