Our research group at the International Audio Laboratories Erlangen is working on some topics in music perception. We ran several experiments to find out: What is the number of instruments in polyphonic music humans can estimate correctly?

To compare our internal results with a broader user base, we published a new web-based listening experiment at http://www.audiolabs-erlangen.com/experiments/wice

After finishing the experiment you get your own score to compare yourself with the other participants. The experiment takes ~10 minutes to finish. Feedback is very welcome.

Thank you for your time and interest,

Harald

Cool! I got 4 out of 12! The first 4 were very buggy and glitchy. Other then that, its great!

7 of 12. Some of the audio samples are poor quality, the mixing is terrible.
