Okay so im looking to get a new laptop for i'd say moderate gaming im stuck between the Sager np8171 and MSI GT683DX. I've never owned a MSI laptop but i currently own a sager np8662 which is about finished, and the repairs wouldn't be worth it.

You'd have to add the cost of the OS to the NP8171 which the MSI already includes.
12GB of RAM sounds more impressive that it really is - but it 'don't hurt' either.
and of course, the GTX 570M GPU.

Keep in mind that the Sager mp8171 specs are not confirmed. They will probably come with the new line of nvidia gpu's rather than the 560m and may also have the new ivy bridge processors if they get released in time. Due to these news things being added, the Sager probably won't ship until mid-late April.
