Hi there, need some help with this one as its drives me mad! :?

I need to do a virus scan (Norton) in safe mode with system restore
off as I need to check for a trojan. But when I try and do a scan in
safe mode or with system restore off, my computer crashes and
re-starts. The scan runs fine when I'm in normal mode.

Don't know what's up, hope someone can help!
