I'm installing Windows XP Home Edition on a new system that I built. I get
to the part of the installation that asks for a Windows CD, but when i press
enter it will tell me to "please wait" and then go back to the page asking
for the CD. I tried a trail version of professional on the same system and I
was able to complete that installation. Am I missing anything?

sounds like a bad burn of the install CD.
