Det 5x.xx yay or nay?

Right then, i think its pretty much certain the latest NVidia drivers are a bit naughty with, frankly, $hit AF quality.
Soooo..... as a 5900U user, im pretty stumped on exactly which driver to use. At the mo im using the Omega 45.xx drivers, but i just found out these drivers only run in performance mode or something coz omega is having a bit of a problem with them, or something...
Thats wierd because i felt the image quality was very good and definately NOT "performance mode!"

Still, this is open to both Nvidia users (not many here, i think!) and Ati users, if it was you, which drivers would YOU choose???

(this is, of course, until i can get around to buying an Ati card, which actually runs at the advertised product specifications!!!)

Honestly, I think I'd use the Det 5X.X's for Half Life 2, because the performance is so dismal without them. Unplayable.

I'de use the 4X.X for everything else.

If you ran the 5900 with an older Detonater and if you run the 5900 in DX8.1- would that look better to you (with all settings maxed out) than using the DX9? -Just curious

It'a a toss-up. Obviously use the 44.03 DETs for Aqua Nox, as LARS' review shows it's the only one that renders correctly. Yet it's also got issue in other applications. So I would say the 45.XX are your best compromise. 44.03 for quality. 50.XX for speed and 45.XX for overall.

Ive been useing the det 50's for over a week now. They are very fast thats for sure and stable as well. I noticed teh terrain detail lacking but walls and chars textureing for UT2003 where much better than the 45's IMO. Just my check on things im waiting for teh 53.45's now should be able to download them shortly.
