Alright,

I have a few folders, one with a bunch of shortcuts to all my games, I set
the folders view option to VIEW AS A LIST!!!!! so the icons are small, Then I
view it and its fine, I close the folder do some stuff and look at it again
AND THE DANG THING IS NOT A LIST ANYMORE ITS THE DEFAULT BIG ICONS!!!!! I
also have another folder that I have all my sounds in that I view as a list,
and it does the same thing except not as much. Then I have another folder
with my name with all different types of files set as view as icons AND ITS
FINE! WHY WONT THE OTHER FOLDERS STAY AT MY SETTING!!?!?!?!!!?!? UGH!

open up the folder that has the large icons that you would like to have set
to the list view and change the view to list then goto tools at the top menu
bar > folder options > goto the view tab > then click on apply to all
folders. this will change the view of all your folder to the list view

What the OP is saying is that they won't STAY at that setting. Even doing
what you say will not ensure that the settings stay that way -
unfortunately.

maybe you can just try what i explained and then set the folders that you
dont want in the list viewto whatever view you want. its worth a shot (since
your so worried about it). then dont ask for help if your not even going try
using the advice that people try to give you.

btw i was just trying to help you out (not trying to be an @$$)

If you use TweakUI, delete the Keys: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\ShellNoRoam\BagMRU and
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\ShellNoRoam\Bags

or, if you use many view settings,

Increase Folder View Size Limit to 8000: http://kellys-korner-xp.com/regs_edits/bags8000.reg Download and run this reg file to make
the view settings remember more than XP'x default 400 folders.

There's really no need to back that up,Kelly's edit given in the other post
