John,
Your games are getting better and better. I think Trackkers, and Gravitrex
are amazing. How about a Major Havoc clone for the veccy? Some one has to
do it sooner or later.

I'm still working on an original idea.
I actually have a new O2 game in the
works, still trying to figure out how
to implement one part though.

Hey All,
Only around 13 days to the release of I, CYBORG now. I'm starting to
get excited. BTW, does anyone in the Vectrex community also collect
for the Wonderswan? I am purchasing a Wonderswan from ebay and I'm
after a few games for it. Can wait for I, CYBORG though.

Daniel,
I picked up a "Skeleton Black" Wonderswan when I was in Japan in the late
'90s. I mostly bought it for Crazy Climber, but I also picked up Space
Invaders, Lode Runner, and a baseball game. Haven't played it in a while,
though. Good game, great battery life out of the rechargeable. The only
things that really bother me about it is there's no backlight and no way to
store high scores.

Still no backlight, but the newest incarnation "Swancrystal" has a
much better screen. I only have a Japanese Final Fantasy for it though
And for collecting WS.. not really.. I just collect handheld consoles.

Hi,

I started....I have the original B/W "WonderSwan" and a "WonderSwan Color".
Only problem is getting software for it....very little other than RPGs seems
to appear on eBay, and all of the software I've come across thus far is in
Japanese (makes playing RPGs somewhat, errm, impossible).

The only Wonderswan accessory that's in English that I know of is the
robot. There are a few games that don't require Japanese (Blue Wing
Bliz, Gunpey, and another puzzle that I don't remember the name of),
but not a lot.

Hi,

Not come across that particular accessory, do you know of a website which
mentions it (or a good WonderSwan website at all)?

Actually, do you know of a site which contains a complete (or as complete as
possible) list of WonderSwan releases?
I've been looking for such a list since I got my machines about this time
last year, but haven't been able to find anything other than incomplete or
partial lists (or ones in Japanese, LOL). I could handle not having English
text if I could find a few decent shoot-em-ups for the thing - wasn't much
of a problem with these types of games back in my "MegaDrive" and "PC
Engine" days.

You can find it on Ebay, possibly Lik-Sang or Play Asia. I have it,
it's called WonderBorg and it's a toy robot that you can program using
the WonderSwan and a cartridge that comes with it. Sort of like the
Lego MindStorm with not nearly as many parts.

I found one site at one point, but I haven't been able to recover the
website name. The puzzle that I mentioned has a Japanese name but I
was able to indentify it with the use of the site. gamefaqs.com has a
partial list of them.

Hey ALL,
Glad to hear there are a few other Wonderswan collectors in the
Vectrex community. I got my Wonderswan in the mail last week from Asia
and also received Final Fantasy II. I know what everyone means now
when they say how frustrating it is playing an RPG in Japanese. I
can't make head or tails of it and it looks to be a good version of
this classic.
A game I may be able to understand without the language barrier may be
Golden Axe and another one called Gundam Seed which looks to be a side
scrolling shooter. So that's at least 2 which is a bit of relief
anyhow.
Here is a link to the best Wonderswan site I can find in English which
has a few reviews and other good Wonderswan features for all of us
English speakers and others:
Does anyone know if Golden Axe is...well...playable for a non-jap
speaker? I'd say it is but just checking. And Gundam Seed? Can't wait
till my I, CYBORG arrives either.
Regards,

I seem to recall that Golden Axe is a fighter game like King of
Fighters or Samurai Showdown, so you should be able to play it without
knowing the Japanese. If you say Gundam Seed is a side scrolling
shooter, you should be able to play it, but I thought all of the
Gundam titles are either RPGs or strategy games.
You probably did this already, but you can get the walkthrough for
FFII at gamefaqs which will allow you to play it.

Thanks Raymond,
I'll be sure to check out that walkthrough for Final Fantasy II at GameFAQ.
Thanks heaps.
