i have just got a ati 9800np to go with my amd athlon 2500 and nf7-s motherboard. However i only got 8100 in the 3d mark 2001 benchmark test. I was wondering why i got such a low score because shouldnt something like that be more about 14000. thanx

Your score should definately be closer to 14k. I haven't used 3dmark yet myself, so I wouldn't be able to help you further than this.

Thats funny in a way.
Turn off everything that makes a R9800 worth using!
All for some crummy artificial score!

ROFL! I wonder who his true identity is. I could almostplace a bet that Captain obvious is an alternate identity of one of this forum's members.

That's the proof in the pudding that Captain Obvious is obviously the alternate identity of a member here. No indication of whom it is, but an indication that we are making the wrong guess. An indication that we are guessing the wrong identity more or less confirms that Captain Obvious is the alternate ID of SOMEONE.

I'm guessing GenticWeapon perhaps. In fact, I'll triple my bet.

Are you sure you got the regular "non pro" and not the chopped down "SE"?

But the 9800 SE is more like a 9600 Pro performance-wise.
