One would need to partition the hard drive or install a second hard drive.

To partition, with an existing system in place, you'll need to get Partition
Magic or another 3rd party application.

The you will need to install Xp in the second partition or on the second
drive. You'll need to review 'multi-boot' options on various Xp sites,
here's one:

http://windows.about.com/cs/dualboot/

The system will then provide an option on startup as to which operating
system you wish to load.

No, one cannot be certain if this configuration would technically class as
one licenced copy Xp being installed on one computer or as two. Thus you may
need to buy a second version of Xp in order to be compliant with the
licenceing aspects of the Operating System Software. Again this question
applies to all other software being installed.

Now, why on earth don't you allow two users on one PC with separate
passwords and establish security on one's own documents etc. Or is it all
too easy to run this way?
