I recently installed XP pro with SP2 (don't ask why, there was no problem
with the home edition) and whilst it was installing it asked for a disc that
i never had (filters or something) and a file from this disk (viaagp1.sys)
after looking all over for the file and to no avail, I clicked cancel. It
proceeded to complete the install.
It installed no problem, but upon using it for the first time i noticed the
speed of the display was not up to scratch as normal and redrawing very
slowly. I have noticed monitor is set to default monitor and cant watch
dvd's as its very jumpy. Display adapter has gone from device manager and
even refreshing does not find it, or add new hardware. What is the solution
to this? My recovery disc won't work as it is a tiny pc and after i messed
with it recently i try and restore to factory settings it flashes up on ms
dos that the bios is locked contact manufacturer which i refuse to do!
Any help greatly appreciated.

If i have to ill totally reformat the hdd but i dont know how to do that
either!

It looks like you'll need to update the video drivers for your monitor. You
can get the drivers free from the manufacturers website.
