Ti4200

[Outhouse]

I was wondering what the closest equivalent of a t14200 128Mb 8x would be. I had to return my 4200 for RMA. They called and said they could not replace it. They offer me a FX 5200. I was wondering if this is a equilant. Or what would be an equivalent. Benchmarks I see say it's not as good a card as what I had. Thanks for the help eveyone.

Captain Obvious says the FX5200 is Obviously not as good as the Ti4200!

Possibly a FX5600 or R9600 would be equal in DirectX8 speed, but have DirectX 9 Functionality.

A friend of mine has a 4200. It's OC'd a bit, and seems to be a pretty nice card for dx8, so its too bad you can't have yours. I would certainly not use a 5200 to replace it with. Go to the next level if you can and get one of the cards CO mentioned. I prefer ati at the moment.

I know some other person was in this same position, ya dont go for the 5200 its knowwere close to the 4200ti, probaly the clostest equivilant is the 5600 ultra I know many will tell you the 5600 and the 5200 are POS. Of course ATI is proably better then Nvidia right now but if you have no choice definatly go with at least a 5600 but I would definatly lobby to get the ultra version.

I would try to get them to replace it with a 9600 Pro.
