Recomendations for the best DX9 card for an Abit SE6 with AGP 2x slot. This will be my second system for network gaming. (mostly racing) Under $200

Wrong, Tom's did their CPU charts using a 9700 Pro on boards all the way back to Socket 7.

THG used GeForce4 Ti4600 with Socket 7. Is it for AGP 2x, or chipset incompatibility?

Spitfire, it's the 9600 cards that will not work with AGP 2x.

Any 9700/9700 PRO/9500 PRO is your best bet.

Wouldn't bother with the 9500 non-pro unless you are poor, or a beting man (and want to chance the 9500-to-PRO mod).

Radeon 9500 (modded to PRO w/8 pixel pipelines)
AMD AthlonXP 2400+ (O/C to 2600+ with 143 fsb)

Ah, I missed that part. It would be due to chipset incompatability most likely. These VIA chipsets were notorious for AGP problems. They did however use the 9700 Pro on the BX, with supports only AGP 1.0
Intel's best chipset ever: Epox EP-BX7+ with 440BX and Socket 370.
And piii_man is running a 9500 on his old Slot 1 AGP 1.0 platform.

The only mainstream cards I know of that're not AGP 1.0 compliant is the 9600 series.

What about Radeon 9800/9800XT cards? Do they work in AGP 2x mobo?
