Windows Any Time Upgrade

Hey really quick question here. I wanted to know how good the Windows any time upgrade for windows 7 is. I ask this because I just purchased an Asus G73JH for college and it comes with Windows 7 home premium 64 bit. My college has a requirement that it must be professional, and I came across the any time upgrade, and I wanted to know how good it is. It is a cheap solution to my problem but I want to make sure it will work well, because I heard the vista's ones were utter failure.
