with ATI revenue up 71%.... coupled with the fastest and best looking cards on the market...and add the specter of a possible radeon MAXX card if needed

and it all adds up to

1. Ati
2. Nvidia

for a LONG TIME TO COME

Do you have SALES numbers to back that up? IE, how many units ATI has sold, and how many nVidia has sold, last month?

Anyway this can do nothing but good things for nVidia buyers, it forces them to innovate!

Actually it's almost irrelevant how many units. Because whichever ones ATI is selling are more profitable. It wouldn't surprise me if nV moved moreof the FX5200s in OEM solutions, but even that appears to be changing now (based on purely personal observation/opinion) with alo of places puting ATI cards in their OEM answers whereas it was only nV before.

I understand your point about who moving more cards, but for the companies, the question is who' making more money off the cards they ship. Even if nV ships more cards it means that their cost/price per card would be more (in adv., R&D, dist, rebates, etc).

Well competetion is always a good thing as stated previously. It's about time though, the past 3-4 years in graphics card technology haven't yielded anything revolutionary for the consumers. Smaller silicon and higher core speeds isn't revolutionary, it's just milking the cow for all it's worth.

Congradulations! You're dumb.

It is a steady progressive movement forward. AA/AF, HDR, all revolutionary.

Stop asking people "whats up" or "hows it goin", you know you don't give a sh*t. And noone cares how you're doing either.

You already can.

First, buy FX5800U. Place in an inverted Case, turn on computer, run windows 3D-pipes screensaver, allow oven errr card to warm up (say 30 mins), then add EGG. MMMmmmm Omlette McNV! Tasty!

Your statement has nothing to do with mine.

Competition, revenue, and number of cards moved do not necessarily go hand in hand. You can have one without the others (and thus both without one) etc.

And as for your final statement, I think WS covered that.

Now I'll sit back and watch my videos with Fullstream thank you.

Also, Emmortal keep in mind that TheGreatGrapApe has an Economics Major, so he WOULD know!

My OS features preemptive multitasking, a fully interactive command line, & support for 640K of RAM!

Also remember I'm workin' on my Masters.

But really anyone knows the above. I just find it funny that we were discussing this very topic but in nV's favour only 6-7 months ago. I can't remember who, dh maybe?, but we were talking about their financial health and future.

In any case, I've always said that competition is good but seriously that's not what I was talking about.

It would be nice to see the breakdown of the cost/profit per unit to move the cards, and see which cards are really bringing in the money. I have a feeling that the R9600 might be bringing in a fair deal of their good 'fortunes'. OEM R9200 might be selling a little better, but what's the return?

The difference between a New Yorker and a Canadian.

New Yorkers say, Eh, what do you think you're doing?!?

Canadians say, What do you think you're doing, eh?!?

Well there's that and guns, and health care, and room to move. But who needs those.

Did you know about the article testing a Pentium 4 egg cooking? Or was it the Athlon?

It was pretty nice, in 10-20 minutes you had broiled eggs man!

P4s are bad at this though, they run cooler.
