This from an earlier post last night:

"Well, fuses in, plugged in. No life. :(

MCP has one this round. Did a little testing, I am at least getting 120V up
to the 1st distribution block, didnt go much further than that though I did
check the voltage being sent to the monitor. When the power is on it is
around 24 mV. Will take a fresh look tommorow after a bit of reading."

One thing I noticed this morning is that there is a magnetic switch pictured
in the manual on the coin-door. Am I correct in recollecting that this will
cut the power if the door is open?

The Tron I have has no lock and the door is open. I did not see the switch,
I need to look inside and see if it is hanging out somewhere. If it is
hanging, I am thinking it is "off" and has thus cut the power most likely
explaining the lack of life so far.

If anyone sees any glaring errors in my understanding of that switche's
function, please let me know. Thanks.

It doesn't cut the power, you can open the door to adjust volume, enter
test mode, etc. without losing power. My Spy Hunter has that switch
too, and I don't exactly understand why it's there, but it's some kind
of "tilt" activator. If you close the switch, either by pressing it or
kneeing the front of the coin door (as I once did in an attempt to
dodge a car, thus abruptly ending my game), you get the "tilt" sound,
test pattern on screen, and the game resets.

Well that is just bizzare, why would you want that behavior????

He's talking about the tilt switch, it keeps kids from kicking and banging
around the machines... if they kick it they lose credits in the game and
game over. Although I imagine if someone was to lose their credits they
wouldn't care about kicking it some more.
