I installed a desktop theme, big mistake, it changed the folder icons to a
picture related to the desktop theme. The desktop theme has been removed,
set the desktop theme to default and it still shows a picture as the icon for
the file
folders. Is there a way to reset or change the file folder icons back to the
standard one? I have cats all over the place and it's driving me insane!!

Angel,

Do you have the third-party .Theme file in the hard disk? If so, post the
contents here.

Angel,

One of the areas where the folder icon is set is in this part of the
registry:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Shell
Icons

Open Regedit.exe and navigate to that key. Backup the key to a REG file.

Then, delete all the values you find in the right-pane. Restart Windows.

Well, then it looks like the Theme has been uninstalled clean already, but
the iconcache needed a cleanup. Thanks for posting back!
