Why o why is it not forum practice to use subject lines when replying to posts?

I guess I'm as bad as eveyone else, but it is so rare to see use of subject lines....

It is time consuming to go through a huge thread that 70% of are 1 liners that could be in the subject line!

Let's try and get more efficient!
