Hello all,

I recently downloaded Savage the demo and as it started to play a box came up saying that my AGP Geforce 3 card is running in PCI mode and im better off changing it back. Well 3 hours of tryin to update every driver i can think of and its still says im running it in PCI mode in my nvidia advanced properties. BUS: AGP (PCI mode) is what it states. Know i have tried searching on google, MSN and your boards here to no avail. Any help would be great. I have DX 9.0b and the current driver for my card running windows 2k pro.

Did you update your motherboard's AGP driver, or BIOS? Did you also tweak some settings in your BIOS?

I have a nvidia video card a 2ghz AMD processer. Im sorry if im a noob but what on board chip are they talking about? This is the first time dealing with anything like this.

That's a crap mobo. Sorry to tell you this, but we have no end of trouble with Elite's cheap-end rubbish.

I have to say, I'm not entirely certain the problem's fixable in software or firmware, it could be a hardware fault. If I were you, I'd spend £70 on a decent nForce board, and just keep the Elite as a spare or something.

The board chip they're talking about is your motherboards's chipset. Ok K7S5A, so that's an SiS chipset. Download the AGP driver here:
<A HREF="http://ftp://ftp.ecs.com.tw/driver/vga/sis/agp_113.zip" target="_new">http://ftp://ftp.ecs.com.tw/driver/vga/sis/agp_113.zip</A>

As for your BIOS, well there's quite a number of versions there, so let's leave that for now. Try the AGP driver first, and if that doesn't work, we'll turn to flashing your BIOS :).

The K7S5A has an SiS735 chipset. The newest AGP driver is version 116. The link that Woodman put up is from the ECS website, and thats an old driver. Go to SiS.com to get the newest drivers for the 735 chipset. There's even a new IDE driver.

I have to say i visit alot of different boards mostly gaming ones but have yet to post on a board without 1 flame or someone saying something that had nothing to do with the topic. You guys rule! Much thanks from a happy fellow gamer.
