I had 2 or3 trojans plus several spyware and viruses in temp internet files.
The main trojan was trojan horse startup.16.BD but also A0015922 and 2 other
similar. After a system restore - because it was the only way to destroy them
- I seemed to have controlled them. I have AVG, Ad-aware, Spybot S&D and
Avast which are all coming up clean. I have also installed all critical
updates from Microsoft inc. SP2. Now my whole system has been running slow
even after defrag, disk clean, uninstalling all unused software and files,
deleting all temp internet files and cookies etc etc it is okay sometimes but
a bit hit and miss. The main problem is my internet connection. I have
broadband which was fine before we got the trojans etc but now it is as slow
as dial up. The connection status was showing about 2,000 sent and 200
recieved earlier today but that has since turned round so than rec'd is more
than sent. I have been told that this is due to trojans and spyware but as i
said none found. I ws advised to reformat but I am not very technical and
worried about doing this - I have read several articles through this site and
they just baffle me. Please help am at my wits end
Thanks Faye

Hello Faye,
If you have 2000 sent packets andf only 200 recieved packets. You have
a problem. What are you using to search for the virus besides avast ? Try"
Housecall " @ Trend Micro.com. It is free and it is good. After as much
infestion as you had you should think asbout reformat. Chose NTFS and use the
long format not the" Quick
" Get a good anti virus and spyw-ware checker as well as a good firewall.
You did not mention
