A while back someone (Todd?) came across a bunch of NOS ones. I suspect a
lot of I,Robot owners grabbed them then which probably reduced the demand
for any repros. (I know I tried to pick up two, but only managed to get one
so I don't have a spare to offer you...)

Hi,
I dont recall the spares, must have been 3-4 years? This is a project
that needs doing badly, all the ones I have seen are cracked or will crack.

Hey Clay, please email me so we can finish our unfinished business.

Scott has the design docs for the plastic panel. If someone with some
platic production facilities wants to repro it, you should be all set
(I certainly don't).

I guess it could have been! I recall there was 20 of them, and I requested
two, but I was last in line and one turned out to be broken so I only got
one. I could swear it was Todd @ TNT... Man, that's going to bug me now...
When was that...

Machined plastic or injection molded plastic?

Bret,
I suspect you could sell a control panel to almost every I, Robot
owner. Perhaps 50-75 total which would be a decent production run. The
setup charges would be rough though...

Last time I checked into vacuum molding (10+ yrs. ago), setup/tooling was
around 5k for a small project. Presuming that the cost is the same, that is
$75-100 per part just for setup, add the production cost on top of that. Seems
like it would be $150 ea.
If there were enough interest, I could look into it further, although I think
that it will only be a possibility if it were done that had ready access to
vacuum molding (at a reduced rate).

i dont have an i, robot but i thought this link might help y'all out.
this site is a great resource for pinball collectors and has a pretty
cool homemade vacuum forming guide. the control panel plastic is
pretty basic so this might work.

By now with modern advances I would think it's more like $1500 but I
would pay $200 for one of these new. I might just make one out of
fiberglass and texture it just like the original since it seem this
will never happen anyway.
