A fellow New Jerseyite! Don't forget Philadelphia. While not as big or diverse as New York, there is plenty to do there as well. Best pretzels anywhere!

Coolest? How about uncoolest? I should say right here in Seoul. For an average person living here you can barely make enough to get a home the size of 20" X 15"! You would need to pay like around USD2,000 monthly rental for something like that! I know Tokyo is worse, but let's talk about here first. The pollution is TERRIBLE, with more than 12 million permanent residents and another 3-5 million people travelling in and out of the city everyday. And car is TOO cheap here! Almost 5 million cars get onto the road every year! And furthermore, they are just uncountable space used for US military bases. GIs go everywhere, making life really hard for locals. What's more? The border is just 40 miles away, which means NKorea can attack one of the most populous city in the world within an hour! Ah! THis is very uncool!
My father does business with South Korea and seems to like your country. He does say though that no Korean can drive. I beleive him, but I have to say that Russians in St Petersburg are even worse since the condition of their roads are so poor.
Nonetheless, the point of this thread is "your favorite cities in the world"
I haven't traveled the whole world, but I can speak on behalf of where I've been: North America and Europe...

Pablo Picasso
For culture, romantic (you know what I really mean, but wherever you are in Sweden, it's even better), art and shopping it's Paris
For culture, shopping and most important clubbing it's London
For the best shopping it's Hong Kong
For exotic dinners it's anywhere in Asia
Seeing a whole big city being a big construction area mixing the old cold war west/east it's Berlin, also good for culture and clubbing... Most important feature 'Love Parade'
For driving my car it's anywhere in Germany, I just need an Autobahn
For the around the year 'October Fest' it's Hamburg's Reeperbahn
For movie stuff, celebrities and entertainment it's LA.
For having all the techy geeks together it's SF, or better Bay Area
