According to the inquirer, ATI plans to revamp and up the clock (core and memory) for the 9600XT to make it faster than the FX 5700 reviewed on Hexus.net

That would be interesting if the Radeon 9600XT gets "relaunched" at what it's supposed to be. According to this article, there is a possibility of that happening, but when can we ever rely on the Inquirer though for sound News?

My OS features preemptive multitasking, a fully interactive command line, & support for 640K of RAM!

Seriously You guys should READ my posts. I posted this on <A HREF="http://forumz.tomshardware.com/hardware/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&p=373665#373665" target="_new">Thursday Morning</A>! Slow-poke! :tongue:

Dang man I Gotta make a new thread for every article! :wink:

JK!

But like I said, this may change a few people's opinions (Eden's I hope, as he's so down on my Evil Goalie series it hurts my Heart!) :eek:

Anywhoo, don't expect more pipelines, you can perhaps expect a 550 core and likely memory clocked near the R9600AIW levels (325mhz) or above (R9800P levels?).

Anwyhoo it DOES look like a great opportunity at a second chance considering all the poor reactions to the 3.3ns memory, and marginal increase in performance (although no increas in launch price).

Also another item from the Inquirer I didn't post in the other thread (cause it's about Powercolor and the statement that they clocked the pros faster is just WRONG);

They plan on releasing a faster version of the R9600XT.

I still think that we should look for the Hercules and top-end (Fireblade still?) Sapphires for the top cards out there.
