Hi, I am currently customizing a laptop on HP and I have to admit, I don't really know what I am doing. I am going to use it for a few games such as minecraft and other similar ones. I am also going to use it for school work (which can range from word documents to CAD drawings and programs). I will have anywhere from 200-300 songs. I want this laptop to last. There are a few choices I need help with.

AMD Quad-Core A8-3550MX Accelerated Processor (2.7GHz/2.0GHz, 4MB L2 Cache)
OR
2nd generation Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-2450M Processor (2.5 GHz with Turbo Boost up to 3.1 GHz)

1GB AMD Radeon(TM) HD 7470M GDDR5 Discrete Graphics(TM) [HDMI, VGA]
OR
1GB AMD Radeon(TM) HD 7690M GDDR5 Discrete Graphics(TM) [HDMI, VGA]
OR
2GB AMD Radeon(TM) HD 7690M GDDR5 Discrete Graphics(TM) [HDMI, VGA]

6GB DDR3 System Memory (2 Dimm)
OR
8GB DDR3 System Memory (2 Dimm)

My advice would be:

Go with the i5 for the processor.

Get the 1GB 7690 unless your screen resolution is 1920x1080 and the upgrade to the 2GB 7690 isn't crazy expensive.

Go with the 8GB unless the upgrade from 6GB is more than $40. At that point, you'd be better off buying an 8GB RAM kit and installing it yourself. (Example)

I agree, only difference is I would not pay for the 2 GB 7690m under any circumstances. No game will use it all and if you game at 1080p you are going to have to play at mid-settings anyway.

But a slight warning. I ordered a HP laptop about 2 weeks ago and it came with a bad pixel on the screen. I called HP about it and they would not repair it or exchange it without me paying 90$. So I sent it back for a full refund (You have 21 days after you receive it to get a refund) and I just got my refund today. It took about 5 days now im trying to decide which laptop to buy I am probably going for this for 750$

But HP quality is usually top notch and I am sure you will be ok with your purchase.
