For the ones who helped me out on the video card on which to by for video games/autocad I went with the Ati Radeon 9800 Pro/Built Buy!! I have to say it handles everything well!! Games are AWESOME on this card!! Autocad is better/faster than the FX5900.

For the benchmark(Aquamark 3D) I had 10,000+ more points with the Radeon 9800 Pro than the FX5900.

I saw more visual effects with my new 9800Pro than with the FX5900. I was playing Unreal T 2003 and I saw new renderings that I never saw before. I know I had the right drivers for the nvidia 5900/tried a couple of them.

I will never go to a nvidia card again!! ATI Rules!!!

I am impressed with the 9500 Pro that I am temporarily using, but I wouldn't jump to any long-term conclusions about nVidia- the NV40 is due out next year. Until a week ago I was using a Ti4200 that I had loved dearly since the start. As always, better cards are coming out (not to mention new drivers).

Radeon 9500 pro is really good card, but can't find on the market. Almost all stores are "out of stock" or "back order", Anyone knows any site has it instock? and can ship right away?

The difference is HUGE when you enable AA and AF (why R9500 Pro owners won't use AA & AF?). In standard conditions, the difference is kinda Ti4200 vs. Ti4600

Almost all stores are "out of stock" or "back order"
The reason for this is that they have been discontinued. They are no longer made, as the 9600 has taken their spot.

Is there anything really more to say?

Glad to see you like it so much.
Though never say never about going back to Nvidia.

Allways go where the bang-per-buck leads you.
(and also the quality-per-buck)

Who knows maybe the next time around Nvidia will be better. But they have to earn that top spot.

Additionally:
With my R9800pro ive found that 4xAA and 8x ansio produces the best performance vs speed.
2x AA leaves vertical jagged edges.
6x AA i see no difference from 4, but a definate performance drop.

4x ansio is a little blury, but 8x is good and 16x is virtually impossible to tell the difference.

I just bought a R9800NP, and it rocks! I can't imagine what your Pro can do.

IMHO, ATI is definitely the leader now. NVIDIA better have something great up their sleeve...

one would expect the pro to do an extra 5 to 20%.

I like the pro because of the 2.86ns memory and the increased Voltages.

Don't bother trying to buy a sealed-box 9500P online- even if you find one (they do surface here and there) they will try to charge you around $200, which is outrageous. I purchased my 9500P directly from a seller on eBay for $160. It was advertised as being two months old, but it looks as though it was never used, and it smells like it. I checked the clock speeds and they match the ATi standard. It has Infineon memory chips. If I were to buy again I would have just gone with a new BBA 9600 Pro. People squabble about the differences, but I think in real-world gameplay they are insignificant. I would recommend either buying a new 9600P for an extra $10, which will have a warranty, or spending $200-210 on a used 9700 Pro. There are some honest sellers on eBay who will answer your questions and provide you with info about the card- whether it was overclocked, type of memory, clock speeds, etc...

The 9500P that I'm using is going into a computer that I'm building for a friend, but I am a little tempted to just keep it for myself, but I'll probably wait a while longer and get a 9800NP. I'm not currently playing any games, so I'm waiting for prices to drop. Doom 3 and HL2 will hopefully change that, but ya know what? Those games are still a long way off.
