xpsp2 can't open

i can not open antthing in my doc,pic or anything on that side of the menu

sorry this is the only time i have done this no error messages. i try
to open it and it thinks for a little time then locks up thinks some more
and dose not open i have look on microsoft for a fix with no luck i am
running windows xp hope this is beter
