Each time I log onto my host PC for the first time on any given session, it
installs my HP 1300 printer. WHY? How do I make it stop?

In your remote desktop client (before you connect) --> Options --> Local

Anthony,

Open Remote Desktop, click "options" button, click "local resources" tab,
uncheck "printers" from "local devices" section.

I love when I answer my own questions.

Regards,

Anthony
