This may be info you already have, but after you load the new cats ( the 3.8s work great for the 9600 pros) remember to set quality to max. I forgot and got halfway through halo thinking the graphics sucked. Better yet do the same thing I did, then you will really see what Ati chips are all about. Welcome to the club. The ram on your card may not clock as high as the BBA cards, but IQ is everything, one more frame/second means zip. Enjoy!!

I got a 20% performance gain by overclocking mine, it really helps when I'm using AA, AF, and high resolutions on DX9 games.

The two main issues are RAM, and $hitty Naming of cards. They also usually (at least for the R9600s I've heard about in the forums) have lesser overhead on the VPU too.

You shouldn't have any problems running it/them at stock speeds.

Now you can try and reach the same speeds as me, 535/365(730). But I wouldn't bet on it. :tongue:

I'm still at work (got about 500 lines to re-assign, been at it since 10 am [it's 7pm now] :frown: ), I haven't had a chance to install them yet.

Try the Cat 3.7's for now (always roll-back instead of leaping ahead) and see if that fixes it).

When I get home (should be around 9pm), I'll try and install the Fujitsu Cat ~3.9 and let everyone know.

You didn't do a clean install did you? Did you run the driver cleaner from driver heaven? Detonator ripper sucks. Even driver cleaner doesn't have a perfect score. My Aquamark with 2500+ and 9600pro (BBA) is 25000.

Are you sure all the other stuff under windoze is working properly? And you didn't do something stoopid like stick your primary HDD on the same IDE channel as an Optical drive? And you're HDD is definitely running in DMA mode?

Hell, I get just under 14000 3dMarks in '01 myself, and I've only got a Geforce4Ti4600!

hmmm... time to 'bite the bullet' then... FORMAAAT!!!  

If you're sure everything is running at the proper speed, then it must be a driver issue, and if you've tried all the 'lazy options' to get shot of the old ones, I guess all you've got left is the format option.

just a quick thought - what are your temps? Is it possible your P4 is overheating and throttling down?
