Hello

Im trying to slipstream SP2 into my XP CD. Im doing it in a computer
that is running Win 2000 Server.
Ive transfered the CD to my PC, downloades the full version, and
extracted it succesfully.
When I go to folder sp\i386\update and run:
update.exe /integrate:c:\xp\cd\ and press enter nothing happens.

Any idea why or how to fix it.
Help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Dan

p.d. Im following a slipstreaming guide found here:

Go to this site and download autostreamer and use that to make your
slipstreamed CD. Not much of a chance making an error using this free
program.

Dan,

I found it easier to use this program. It's free and it works! Try it.

FYI, it looks as if Tom forgot to mention how you have to use an
XP machine when following his procedure. Here's a rather clumsy
workaround from MS:

As has been mentioned, using Autostreamer will make things
simpler.

Dan, might I suggest that you goto
http://www.neowin.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=223562 and download a
copy of AutoStreamer v1.0.33 and use that. Its a quick, simple and
painless way to create a slipstreamed copy of XP-SP2 from your
existing XP-SP1 disk(s) and the 266meg Windows XP Service Pack 2 for
IT Professionals and Developers which can be found at
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads [...] layLang=en

I have made two slipstreamed XP-SP2 disks from my two XP-SP1 originals
(One Retail and One OEM) and have used both for scheduled annual
complete restorations to my two systems and they worked just fine.

DW

Dan, I messed up on a link in the prior message. The 266meg Windows
XP Service Pack 2 for IT Professionals and Developers file can be
found at
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads [...] laylang=en
