My acer 5336 laptop will not boot up

My Acer 5336 wont boot. It wont start in safe mode or allow me to use the alt F10 key. It just keeps flashing the acer screed with the F2 setup. I think it may have a virus. Please help...

  1. Hello lorrainerhiggins;

    Is there any reason to think the hard disk might have failed?

    If you make yourself a bootable CD (or USB thumb drive) you can bypass needing the hard disk and installed Windows.

    Ubuntu Desktop: http://www.ubuntu.com/download/
    If you can get Ubuntu running (Use F12 to boot the CD or USB thumb drive) you know notebook hardware is OK. And if you can see the hard disk with the Ubuntu file manager you can probably figure out it's a problem with Windows (Virus, etc).
